Camera and Image Processing
ZedTranslate includes camera functionality for text recognition and translation:
- Camera Access: Used to capture images containing text for translation
- Image Processing: Images are processed locally using Google ML Kit for text
recognition
- OCR (Optical Character Recognition): Text is extracted from images on your
device
- Local Processing: All image processing occurs on your device, not on our
servers
- No Image Storage: Captured images are not permanently stored or transmitted
- Text Extraction: Only the extracted text is processed for translation
- Privacy Protection: Your images and their content remain private on your
device
Payment Processing & Subscriptions
We work with trusted third-party services to handle all financial transactions securely:
- iOS Payments: Processed via Apple In-App Purchase (IAP).
We do not store your credit card details.
- Android Payments: Processed via Lenco Pay (supporting
Mobile Money in Zambia) and Google Play Billing.
- Data Handling: Payment information is encrypted and handled directly by
these providers. ZedTranslate only receives transaction status (success/failure) to unlock
features.
- Security: All transactions are subject to the strict security standards of
Apple and Lenco Pay.
Speech-to-Text (Voice Input)
ZedTranslate includes voice recognition features for easier translation:
- Microphone Access: Used to capture voice input for speech-to-text
translation
- Local Processing: Voice recordings are processed locally using your
device's speech recognition
- Privacy: Voice recordings are processed in real-time and are
NOT permanently stored
- Data Handling: Audio data is immediately deleted after transcription is
complete
