App Installation & Setup

How do I download and install ZedTranslate?

ZedTranslate is available as an APK file for Android devices. Simply download the APK file, enable "Unknown Sources" in your device settings, and install the app. The app will download and install manually.

What are the system requirements for ZedTranslate?

ZedTranslate requires Android 6.0 (API level 23) or higher, at least 100MB of free storage space, and 2GB of RAM for optimal performance. The app works on most modern Android smartphones and tablets.

Is ZedTranslate available for iOS devices?

Currently, ZedTranslate is only available for Android devices. An iOS version is in development and will be released on the App Store in the future. We'll announce the iOS release on our website and social media.

Translation Features

Which languages does ZedTranslate support?

ZedTranslate supports 8 major Zambian languages: Bemba, Nyanja, Tonga, Lozi, Kaonde, Luvale, Namwanga, and Tumbuka. You can translate between any of these languages and English, or between any two Zambian languages.

How accurate are the translations?

Our translations are based on comprehensive dictionaries developed by language experts and native speakers. While we strive for high accuracy, some complex phrases or context-dependent expressions may have multiple valid translations. We recommend using simple, clear language for the best results.

Do I need an internet connection to use ZedTranslate?

Yes, ZedTranslate requires an internet connection to provide accurate translations. This ensures you always have access to the latest translations and improvements. We recommend using Wi-Fi or mobile data for the best experience.

Learning & Vocabulary

How do I unlock vocabulary packs?

Vocabulary packs are unlocked using points earned through app usage. You can earn points by completing daily translations, daily tasks, and achieving milestones. Each language pack costs between 7,500-9,500 points depending on the language.

What types of vocabulary are included?

Vocabulary packs include practical categories like greetings, numbers, family relationships, food and drink, time and weather, directions, health, and business terms. Each category contains relevant words and phrases with cultural context.

How do daily challenges work?

Daily challenges are learning activities that refresh each day. Complete tasks like translating 5 words, learning 3 new phrases, or practicing pronunciation to earn points and build consistent learning habits. Achievements unlock additional rewards.

Can I customize the app appearance?

Yes, you can customize various aspects of the app including font size, theme preferences, and notification settings. Go to Settings in the app menu to access customization options and personalize your experience.

How do I save favorite translations?

After getting a translation, tap the star icon next to the result to add it to your favorites. You can access all your saved translations in the Favorites section of the app for quick reference.

Can I share translations with others?

Yes! You can share translations via text message, email, or social media. Use the share button next to any translation result to send it to friends, family, or colleagues.
